Roofnest started on a road trip to Moab
A big group of friends from all over getting together to laugh, play music, share stories, and enjoy all the fun a good desert weekend can serve up. I wanted to share this experience – the experience of just taking off, going somewhere fun, and having a blast. I want to make it as easy and enjoyable as it can be for you and that’s why I started this company.
The Roofnest is so convenient and comfortable you’re going to be daydreaming of places you can go to explore, see new things, and create new experiences.
Getting out of town and into a new place is good for your soul. Making that escape from your routine and the familiar sights and sounds refreshes you, relaxes you, and reminds you of why you’re living and what (or who) you really want to be chasing.
That’s what this company is all about: helping you get out there and have a concrete-free experience. The Roofnest gives you a simple, durable tool to make your road trip easy, fun, and comfortable.
Roofnest’s Founder, Tim Nickles
I grew up in Alaska camping and hiking from a young age. I’ve always been drawn to adventure and exploration and, like most Alaskans, I am a little obsessed with gear and equipment. From building my own gear and equipment to modifying the gear I buy, I am always thinking about how to make things better. Once I started using roof top tents I was sold immediately on the genius of the design. What could be easier than carrying a protected, comfortable bedroom on top of your car?
I’ve been living in Colorado for over 25 years now and I love taking advantage of all this location has to offer. There are so many great camping destinations within a six hour drive of my home in Boulder and I like to go for several nights whenever I can. Making car camping easy, comfortable, and fun is what gets me out there more.
